Sung is a seasoned executive with a proven track record in scaling two of Korea’s leading e-commerce unicorns—Ohouse (오늘의집) and Kurly (마켓컬리). His expertise spans service and logistics operations, fundraising, and M&A.
As the representative of Ocado Group in Korea, Sung led one of the largest partnerships in Lotte Shopping’s history, earning the trust of key decision-makers. He also supported Aeon Group’s ambitious entry into Japan’s online grocery market under the “Green Beans” brand.
Prior to his transition into e-commerce, he was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, working across the Seoul and Houston offices. He advised leading global technology companies on go-to-market strategies for products such as laptops, smartphones, cameras, and semiconductors across Europe, North America, and China. Sung holds a BA in Business Administration from Yonsei University, an MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford, and an MBA from MIT Sloan.

His original workflows have garnered significant attention across the industry, especially his innovative techniques for integrating real-world objects and people into synthetic visual content, which are now widely adopted across multiple sectors.
Before joining, Heechul was a researcher at Samsung Electronics' Semiconductor Division and a member of the Advanced Photonics Research Institute. He holds a Ph.D. and MS from École Polytechnique in France and a BS from Kyung Hee University in Korea.
